About:
June is the perfect match for someone who would love a chill dog with unlimited love to give. She knows many commands and loves nothing more than to be with her people and lie down wherever she can be near them. She is fully housebroken and goes to the door when she needs to go out though previously rang a bell to indicate this. She has been sleeping in her crate at night and when left alone and is quite content and secure in it. She is very interested in cats and dogs, and we were told that she previously did well in doggy day care. June is a very happy, loving dog that will always give you a full golden welcome! She is a quick learner and food motivated, taking treats nicely from your hands. She does have a history of mild resource guarding chews and bones but nothing else. She walks well on leash but may pull if stimulated by approaching people or other dogs. June was surrendered due to her previous family having an active toddler that could not learn June's boundaries so they worried that June may not be tolerant of a toddler pulling up on her or disturbing her when sleeping. GRRoM recommends dog-savvy children be 10 or older that could learn not to startle her. A fenced in yard would be ideal but other forms of containment may be considered. She has adapted well to a dog run at her foster home. Formal obedience training is not required but is always a good bonding experience.
