Chester

Mature Adult - Approximately 9 years old

Status:

Ready for Adoption!

About:

Chester is approximately 9 years old and came to us when his owner passed away.  When Chester arrived, we had little information about him.  He was overweight, his coat was matted, he had extremely long nails, worn teeth, and had not seen a vet in at least 5 years.  He was nervous and leery of the people caring for him, but he still cautiously leaned up against us and was happy for some loving.  Once Chester received the care he needed, his true personality started to shine through. He really is a playful 9-year-old!  Chester LOVES balls.  It is hard to find him without one (or two) in his mouth.   He is very smart, so smart that he can be stubborn at times!  He enjoys walks and car rides but needs work on settling down for the latter as he had little to no experience riding in car before.  He loves his foster mom and follows her everywhere.  Once he settled in, it was easy to see that he is a very sweet and loving boy.   In general, he is laid back.  He is very good with cats and does not seem bothered by horses, deer, or even the household chicken but he is not good with other dogs.  Chester needs an experienced family with no small children (age 12+).  A physical fence is recommended, but other forms of containment may be considered.  Obedience training is not required but is highly recommended.
