About:

Zoey is the perfect match for someone looking for a chill dog with unlimited love to give.  She is a 3.5-year-old who knows many commands, is a quick learner and eager to comply.  She was surrendered by her original family to GRREAT, a sister rescue in Virginia, due to her owner's financial difficulties.  This began her journey to finding a home where she could have the life she deserves.  She greets you in the morning and when you come home with such enthusiasm that she throws herself on the floor and wiggles up to get as close to you as she can. She is crate trained, rides nicely in the car and walks well on leash but still pulls when she sees another dog.  She needs a home without children but has been reported to do well with other dogs and cats. This has not been tested in her current foster home.  She is on a weight lost journey which she will need to continue on until she reaches her ideal weight.  She resource guards things that she considers high value and will need to continue to work on this behavior so an experienced adopter would be preferred. She would love a physically fenced yard, but other forms of containment will be considered.  Zoey is a very loving happy dog just looking for her forever home where she will be loved in return.  

Information about other animals:

Gets along with other dogs and cats according to previous home. This has not been testing in the foster home.

Adoption Wish List:

• Continued support on her weight loss journey is required until she reached her ideal weight.

• Formal obedience training not mandatory but always recommended.

• A fenced in yard would be ideal but other forms of containment may be considered.

• History with children is unknown, so children in the home should be over the age of 10.
