Winter
Female Puppy, Estimated to be 4 months old
Status:
Adopted!
About:
Winter is your gal if you have ever dreamed of owning a well-behaved, gorgeous pup. She is a petite 20 lbs. and is estimated to be about 4 months old. She does well on walks, loves to retrieve balls (for treats!) and will curl up on your lap in a New York minute. She has exhibited positive behavior around other dogs though she has no canine siblings at her foster home. Interactions with cats are unknown. Winter is a young pup and currently in a mild chewing phase but, so far, has respected all personal belongings. She has impressed her foster parents because even at such a young age she can be independent playing with her toys and just observing the world. She gets excited when meeting new people and often greets them with a typical golden "here I am" jump. Fosters are working on a calm sit and wait approach. She absolutely understands this along with a host of other commands. She is crated when alone during the day but sleeps on her dog bed in fosters bedroom at night. She is still working on potty training by timing it and rewarding successes. She rides well in the car, does not counter surf and respects her humans’ mealtime. She is gentle and kind and has the "thank you kiss" mastered. Her eye contact with you will melt your heart and make all your problems dissolve immediately. An ideal family can be novice or experienced but, because she is so young, formal obedience training will be required with proof of enrollment due at time of adoption. A fenced in yard would be ideal and children should be over 10.
