About:
Saint has become, well, a Saint! He has come a very long way in a short time. He was not at his best in the chaotic home where he came from but, with patience and care, he is now just a normal 1 year old puppy. Being so young, he can be exuberant, rambunctious and clumsy. Full of energy at times with zoomies galore, he is also very sweet, cuddly, devoted and smart. He is a quick learner too. He now sleeps with the fosters and knows sit, wait, shake and “stop” while on walks. He’s still a bit driven by his nose but generally pulls very little and is often “loose leash” on walks. Being a puppy, he has tons of energy so daily walks or rigorous exercise are a must. Give him a place to burn off that energy and he’s as good as gold. Saint is crate-trained for up to 2 hours and he’s not afraid of thunderstorms or loud noises. He rides well in a car while he looks out the windows to see “where he’s been”. He gets along well with bigger dogs (smaller dogs are unknown, but probably OK too). No resource guarding has been seen, and he will even “share” a toy with the other golden in the house as they have become best buddies! He learned about cats by sharing space at his foster home with an old, snarky tiger. A fenced yard is required as he loves to explore and will likely wander if given the chance. His adoptive family needs to be committed to exercise, enrichment and continued training. Formal obedience classes may be required depending on their experience. Because of his exuberance, children should be over 10.
