Linda Tackett
Garage Sale Coordinator
Although a lot of work, but it touches my heart to know that the funds that we make during the Garage Sale (started in 2014) is going towards the care for the dogs that GRROM rescues. My Pooge, who was a GRROM puppy, enjoyed 7 garage sales, enjoying all the hugs, treats, and pets as people would come to shop at the sale. I guess you can say she was our mascot. At one of the sales, a woman pulled out her checkbook and wanted to buy her. I told her I’m sorry she’s not for sale and she got a little bit angry, but I told her go on the website to see the other Goldens that would love to be adopted!
If it wasn’t for my cousins that come from Illinois and from West Olive, MI to help me set up and run this sale, I could definitely not do this by myself. Also, I cannot forget my friends and other family members that come to help along with volunteers from GRROM. Karen Mullins also is a BIG help in this sale, she will take items that did not sell and through the year will sell it at her garage sale in the spring or online, then donates the funds to GRROM. Also, let’s not forget some of the volunteers that bring their Goldens to help at the sale! It takes a village to help the Goldens and I am so happy that I have been a part to all of this.
