This story comes on the perfect day of the year because luck was on Pal’s side!

Here is his story, written by a GRRoM volunteer:

“Last night, I received a heart-wrenching call from the Golden Retriever Rescue of MI. They had just taken in a 14-year-old dog named Pal, who was in a dire state - covered in mats, urine, and feces, with nails so long they were curling, hindering his ability to walk. This morning, Pal’s temporary foster and I met to help him. For 1.5 hours, we carefully removed the mats, trimmed around his bottom to ensure cleanliness for a diaper, and then gave him a much-needed bath. The transformation was remarkable - Pal’s spirits lifted, he began to smile and show affection. His gratitude was evident as he kissed my cheek, and I returned the gesture with a kiss of my own. Our mission is clear - to provide care and love to dogs in need like Pal. I hold GRROM close to my heart, and their work is invaluable to me.
