About:

Ranger is a very smart and friendly 60 lb. male who was surrendered because his family could no longer take care of him. He is a quick learner and has lots of inquisitive energy.  He loves being outside, chasing squirrels and rolling in the snow and leaves.  He plays follow me games and loves cognitive toys, guessing cups and lick mats.  He is trustworthy in the home alone, but much prefers the company of his people. He is learning to walk on leash and is really starting to excel. He would love to sleep on your bed but has adjusted well to sleeping on a dog bed. His darling morning habit is to bring you your slippers or socks and often carries his soft toy around and takes it outside to play.  Ranger still needs some work with socialization.  He is distracted by other dogs and will bark if he encounters them on walks.  He has lived with a very submissive foster sister, but it took a couple days to get used to her so unclear how he will do with another dog in the home.  Cats are also unknown. He grew up with teenagers and loved the younger nieces and nephews that visited him daily.  A physically fenced yard would be ideal but other forms of containment will also be considered.   Obedience training always recommended but not mandatory. Ranger would do well with a novice or experienced owner.

Needs socialization with other dogs. Gets along with his foster sister who is a German Shorthaired Pointer.

Cats are unknown.

Adoption Wish List:

• Someone who can work with him on leash manners.

• A fenced in yard would be ideal but other forms of containment will also be considered.

• Has experience with older children, so children in the home would be acceptable.
