About:

Meet Nala and Kona.  You would be hard pressed to find any sweeter dogs on the planet. Both girls are extremely affectionate and love to be petted. Nala is definitely the older sister. She likes to lie on the sofa and watch the younger dogs play although she will jump in for some fun of her own. Kona is a bit more playful although she is more than happy to lie down for pets at any time. They fit right in with our one-year-old golden.  The three of them take turns playing together in the snow or wrestling around in the house. The girls have also met a twelve-week-old puppy that they welcomed with no problems. We are very confident, given their temperament, that they would get along with any other dogs though we haven’t had the opportunity to observe them with cats. Kona and Nala get along greatly with their foster’s 12- and 14-year-old children. They haven’t had experience with younger children, but we suspect it would be no problem given their gentle nature. They are both big girls so they might inadvertently knock a smaller child over.  Nala weighs 90lbs, and Kona weighs 77lbs, and both would benefit from losing a couple of lbs. While Nala is an amateur counter surfer, Kona is definitely a professional. The foster is working on this and they are learning that paws don’t belong on the counter. When caught, they just look extremely sheepish with an “aw shucks, I’m busted” type of look and respond immediately. They are trustworthy when left home alone.  A physical fence would be ideal but other forms of containment will be considered. They know basic commands and would benefit from additional training and leash work.  They would do fine with a novice family and will make an amazing addition to any home.
