About:

Meet Mary Agnes! This floofy golden girl was surrendered by her family due to financial challenges. At around 76 pounds, she still needs to lose some weight, but she has come so far from where she once was. Mary Agnes is as lovely a lady as you could hope for. She has a goofy, endearing personality. The type of dog who wants to always be with you but is also independent enough to not be overwhelming. She is a loving and happy dog who would love to join you in just about any activity. She walks fairly well on a leash, though she can be strong and stubborn at times. She is crate trained, house trained, knows the commands sit, stay, lie down, show belly, stand up, rotate, back up, hop up, and leave it. She loves to ride in the car and has a strong preference for riding in the front passenger seat, if it’s available. A sociable madam, she gets along great with other dogs, though she would certainly not mind being the only dog in her home to soak up all the affection. It is unknown how she does with cats.  Mary Agnes is wonderful with kids of all ages. She is currently being fostered in a home with two children under the age of 2 years and is marvelous at interacting with them. She doesn’t even snatch snacks out of their hands, despite being a dedicated foodie. Mary Agnes is not overly energetic nor noticeably lazy. She enjoys a good outing at least once a day (this could be a 30-minute walk or trip to the park) and then wants to come home and have some couch potato time. She would do best with a physical fence, trolley system, or tie out. An invisible fence is not recommended as she may be willing to experience some discomfort in pursuit of a squirrel or rabbit. A unique quirk about Mary Agnes is that she should NOT be given any dog toys other than Kongs and lick mats. This is due to her obsession with destroying all dog toys. Her current record is 8 dog toys destroyed in a single day. Good girl that she is, though, she knows how to differentiate between dog toys and children’s toys and does not destroy toys that aren’t hers. This delightful gal would be perfect for any family, from novice to experienced. Her adopter does need to be committed to continued weight loss and maintaining her healthy weight.
