Mac is a beautiful, loving dog with a very sweet and gentle nature. He is affectionate, caring, and loves being close to his people. Mac thrives on companionship and loves sleeping in bed with his foster brother and parent.  He loves to run and play with his foster brother and gets along well with him and other dogs he has met though he does display some leash frustration when encountering other dogs on walks...and sometimes with small critters as well. Exposure to cats is unknown. He knows basic commands and is eager to learn more. He communicates well when he needs to go outside.  He could use some additional training to ensure he doesn't bolt out of open doors. For this reason, a home with a physically fenced yard is preferred, though other forms of containment may be considered.   Mac is an energetic 5-year-old and requires regular exercise, structure, and positive reinforcement. While formal obedience training isn't mandatory, it is highly recommended as a great bonding experience. Because he has had very limited exposure to children and was uncomfortable around a crawling toddler in his previous home, we recommend a home with children over 10 who are dog-savvy.  Mac is a wonderful companion who is always ready to cuddle. He has so much love to give and he just might be the perfect dog for you.
