About:
Meet Delilah (“Delly”), a sweet 2-year-old, said to be a Golden Retriever/Aussie mix. She is a 63 lb. black beauty with the softest fur who loves belly rubs and having her paw held. She knows all her basic commands and still does puppy-like-zoomies. She walks well on leash and loves taking sniffy walks in the woods, playing in the yard with her family and watching the birds and squirrels. She also loves to run, roll around in the grass, and play with her tennis balls, so she would do best in a fenced yard, but other forms of containment will be considered. She is a real cuddle bug on the couch and sleeps well in her crate at night. She politely sits with her paws crossed patiently waiting to be fed, but she will bark when people enter or approach the house. She was surrendered to GRRoM for aggression toward an older female dog in the household but got along great with the male dog and the family’s cat. With consistent training she may overcome this, and she may just be dog-selective, but for now she should be the only dog. She is shy at first but warms up quickly. She was raised in a quiet rural area, so she is currently fearful of noises in her foster's busy neighborhood. She is such a smart dog and she’s catching on well to training. Continued positive reinforcement obedience training is recommended for experienced families and may be required for novice ones. Such training would help her bond with her new family and become more confident. Delilah has little or no experience with children so a family without children is recommended or dog savvy children older than 10.
Health:
No known health concerns.
