About:
Meet Bison! This young pup was surrendered when his owner could no longer meet his needs. Bison is a tall, lean, and incredibly affectionate boy, currently weighing 67 lbs. and still growing. He loves following his people around the house and is quick to jump into a lap for cuddles (he is still working on his puppy manners).
While he can be a bit timid around men initially, he warms up quickly and is very loving toward everyone, including young children. Having done well with dog-savvy children as young as four in his foster home, we recommend any children in the home be at least four years old and be experienced and comfortable around large, energetic puppies.
Because of his vibrant puppy energy, Bison is best suited for an active family willing to invest time in his development. We strongly recommend formal, positive reinforcement obedience training to help him grow into a well-mannered adult dog. Being smart and active, he requires plenty of mental and physical exercise. Bison gets along well with the two resident dogs in his foster home and would thrive with a canine companion to play and bond with. He is also interested in cats, though he is still learning to respect their boundaries and resist chasing them. While a physical fence is preferred, other forms of containment will be considered. Bison is a one-of-a-kind pup who will make a wonderful addition to any active household. To meet him is to love him!
