TRAINER: Alex Dunn - owner and head trainer of Emmy’s Way Dog Training located in Grand Rapids, MI.

SUBJECT: Lecture Information:

  • What to expect when a new dog enters your home and how to prepare

  • How to properly introduce dogs together for success

  • Dog body language

  • How to approach unwanted behaviors: resource guarding, conflict with touch, reactivity-barking and lunging behaviors

  • Q&A

    Alex's background is in Elementary Education, Spanish, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. While teaching, Alex rescued her first dog, Emmy, as an adult. Emmy came into Alex's life and inspired a new passion: dog training. Alex said she fell in love with behavior and how to support dogs with compassion, empathy, curiosity, and fun. Alex's goal is to support both humans and dogs in building their best relationship with one another.

    All GRRoM Fosters, novice and experienced, are welcome to attend.

    We highly recommend your attendance at this workshop. This will be a "people only" training session, no dogs.

    We will address all the pertinent issues our fosters face with their fostered Goldens.
    GRRoM wants to provide as much help and training as possible for fostering confidently and successfully.
